'The Other Side'

Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh.

- Luke 6:21

This date represents a day of great pain and loss for our country. It also represents a day of great resilience, faith and courage.

Every challenge, every grief, every heartache brings a deep hunger and a well of tears. The emptiness inside us reminds us that our ultimate hunger, and our ultimate source of nourishment, is God alone.

If you are in a time of struggle or pain, know that this is not random; it isn't heartless or without purpose. No matter what it is, no matter how big the chasm of your broken heart, God is with you. He has a plan for you. He will redeem and repurpose every bit of your ache for something greater than you could ever imagine. If that seems unfathomable or impossible right now, all the better. Because when you get to the other side of this, you will be amazed at what he was doing for you behind the scenes.

Watch, wait and wonder.

- Kristin Armstrong

"...focusing less on my circumstances and more on God." Thank you, Patty. Just what I needed today, circuitous path and all!
Prayers for all.

Kristin, beautiful devotion, thank you. It brought tears to my eyes.

I like what Kristin wrote: "The emptiness inside us reminds us that our ultimate hunger, and our ultimate source of nourishment, is God alone".

Thank you Kristin for reminding me that without God, I am nothing. Through all my heartaches He has been with me, I realize that he was working and doing things for me behind the scenes to make my life better. Jesus is my Lord, my Savior, my Refuge, my Strength and "my Friend". Amen.

Such powerful words for me today, LFF family, please pray for my mother who is nearing the end of an Alzheimer’s battle. She is at the finish line, and I know the banquet is already prepared.
Eva | Posted on: 2019-09-11 12:56:42
I pray that God has mercy on your Mother's soul. I pray that Jesus is carrying you, your mother and all her loved ones through the finish line and beyond. God bless and keep you and your mother.

Your last sentence is a powerful statement of faith. Thank you, and God Bless your mother and you.

Eva, I pray that her struggles are comforted in Heaven as you say our banquet of life. I too had experienced this about 5 years ago. May you always know he is there by your side and your mom's side.

Kristin, you have no doubt personally lived the words you have written in your reflection, as have I. When I was in my "desert period", I had no idea where it would lead, but when I began to trust that God had me in the palm of His hand, I could feel His peace. I started to focus less on my circumstances and more on God and how I could best serve Him. God led me on a circuitous path (from my perspective!), but I can look back now and see how all of the heartaches and challenges were exactly what I needed to be where I am today. Thanks be to God for His faithfulness! If I ever need a little "reality check" in a moment of self-pity, I remember that this earthly life was never meant to be perfect...that's for Heaven!
Patty | Posted on: 2019-09-11 09:22:34
Amen! When we turn to and depend on our Lord Jesus, He will always journey with us through our challenges and love, heal and strengthen us every step of the way. Praise the Lord!

Thank you Daniel for your reflection this morning about your daughter and your life.

I too today am filled with challenges and much uncertainty in my life professionally, but I I will keep my eye on him and continue to serve him as I do every day.

I can do great things and get through great situations I am faced with with him.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

My prayers to our Living Faith Family today and everyday.

For me today has become a day of sadness and joy, 12 years ago today we welcomed the birth of our 1st daughter,it was a bit confusing at first thinking 9/11 would be her birthday but after deeper reflection I realized the day had come full circle, God's plan is greater than ours.and there's always life to come.
Peace be with you all!

Results of the MRI were good but Kathy has been acting funny losing words and not making sense. We are meeting with the neurologist today. Please pray for her and me to have strength to help her and my family. I have been praying and will pray for the Living faith family. Ken

Ken, may God give you and Kathy what you need at this time. His plan is best! Amen.

I rarely comment but please know I am keeping you, Kathy & your family in prayer. May the Holy Spirit be with each of you in a deep, powerful way & the tangible presence of Jesus be felt by all, that He would be that close as to be realized. That He would "strengthen you with might in your inner man". Ephesians 3:16 Patty

Ken, you and your wife are always in our daily prayers, may he come today and reassure you both that he loves you and will always be at your side. Without him I do not know how I would ever survive.
