'Transitioning With Grace'

St. Romuald

Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.

- 2 Corinthians 9:8

This time of year is one of transition, isn't it? Sacraments are celebrated, graduations dot the calendar. Everyone, it seems, is moving from one stage to the next. For us, it's about my second-to-last son graduating from high school this month and starting college in the fall. Since he is the fourth of five, in one sense, it's all old hat to me. But of course, because he's different, this is different.

His father died when he was seven, so he's grown up without him. And he moves into manhood without him. He seems perfectly fine, but I confess I still worry about it. Sometimes the whole situation makes me question God's wisdom. But all of us live with gaps and questions, don't we? And what can we do but trust, give it to God and welcome the grace we so deeply need and he so abundantly gives?

Loving God, your grace is sufficient.

Amy thank you for your inspiring devotion. Thank you also for reminding me that "God's grace is sufficient".

God's loving Grace brings me comfort too when I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Dear Lord, let me feel your presence and help me to trust you when I'm feeling overwhelmed and worried. Lord I give you my worries and "welcome your loving grace that I so deeply need and You so abundantly give". Amen.

God Bless our Living Faith Family.

Indeed, "Your grace is sufficient!" Thank you, Amy, for sharing!

Paul shared his revelation in 2 Corinthians 12:8-10, "Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
* But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
* Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
* That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

If I want to receive God's grace and power, here is my heart attitude (not on what is seen - my circumstances, but on what is unseen - God's grace and power):
* boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses
* for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties
* For when I am weak, then I am strong

What is the result of receiving God's grace and power? 2 Corinthians 9:8b, "you may have an abundance for every good work."
* To fill in the gaps and answer life questions (Why me? Why not me?)
* To trust and surrender to God's will and plan (including weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, difficulties)
* To receive God's grace and power for every good work (gaps and questions both for myself and others)

I love You, Lord Jesus! I keep Your Word and continue to read Your Word, and the Father love me and all of You (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) come to me. When I am weak, then I am strong in You (all of You :-) Amen! (John 14:23, 2 Corinthians 12:10b)

Amy, continued prayers to you and your family. I pray that God and the Spirit will continue to be a big part of your families lives and offer all of you the guidance when needed.

Let go and let God.

We have heard these few words before and when I am overwhelm, these provide me much comfort.

As the Gospel mentions today, when we share his graces with others that we have been truly blessed with, do not boast before others, just do it quietly.

What I like to do is give thanks in all things, immediately when I receive and are blessed with his grace, I give him thanks.

Please share his grace and blessing we receive with others and feel his presence, it is truly life changing.

Dear Jesus, please hear our prayers for all of our Living Faith Family and their families today, may they feel, your presence and be comforted through life’s ever changing events.

Amen

Amy, your son and all your children are blessed to have you for a mom. I believe your son will always have his dad with him in spirit.

Amy, others like me have grown up with one parent, my mother died when I was 15 and my dad and I cared for her for 3yrs prior. I believed my mother was always with me and Gods spirit too guiding me. May your son know this in his life too! Gods grace is sufficient.
