''I Am With You''

St. Rita of Cascia

Do not be afraid. Go on speaking, and do not be silent, for I am with you.

- Acts 18:9-10

These comforting words were given to Paul in a vision while he was in prison. Take them deep into your being today so they can become a part of the hum of your life. In a sense, we are all in prison--prisons of our own making. Unfortunately, we often find it difficult to trust that God is with us, to trust that God will get us through the prisons of our lives and into a better life.

The words, "I am with you," can serve as a comforting mantra following us throughout our day. We hear God speaking these words to many of our fearful biblical ancestors in both the Old and New Testaments. When Moses trembles at the thought of facing Pharaoh, God's answer to his fear is, "I will be with you." When Jesus commissions his disciples to go forth and teach all nations, his promise is to be with them until the end of time.

Del/tom, I will keep your son in my prayers for a successful procedure and recovery. God Bess You!

Sr. Macrina, thank you for your uplifting devotion.

It's possible that God told St. Paul to not be afraid because St. Paul was actually afraid of something. St. Paul, the other apostles and our "fearful biblical ancestors" experienced and saw many horrible and despicable behavior and actions. Fear is a strong temptation, even to our veteran disciples and ancestors.

Jesus tells us: "Do not be afraid" and "I am with you". Let His words reach deep inside our hearts and souls and allow Jesus and the Holy Spirit to fill us with Strength and to turn our fear into Boldness. Amen.

God Bless our Living Faith Family and continued prayers for all.

Del/ Tom as the others have mentioned here so far today, we are all saying extra prayers for your son and your family, May our Lord Jesus Christ surround your son, cradle him in his arms and gently place his back on the pillow of comfort.

May our Lord Jesus Christ, who we have given our entire mind, body and soul too, give you his parents comfort knowing that Jesus has this and that all of our combined faith here today, will be enough.

Dear Lord Jesus, we know in today's Gospel and really this entire week, you are preparing us and your disciples, that you will be going to the Father and away from us. This time you will not be coming back, until the day of judgement.

Please remain in me and the entire Living Faith Family, gathered here today. By the power and the gift of the Holy Spirit, reunite in us the burning desire to get going, be active in the name of Jesus Christ, sharing the word of Christ with others.

This morning as I awake and slow down my mind and body to reflect and give thanks to our God in my life, I feel so blessed.

Yesterday, God shared with me through another person, that the very large situation in my life, that has now been dragging the life out of me this past year, is hopefully taking a turn to be resolved. At this point we do not know for sure, but with the bit of good news learned yesterday, I am hopeful for a positive out come can be achieved.

At once I stopped and gave thanks to God for his blessing and continued support, through out this terrible event in my life.

I now have to remain in faith in God, the one who promised to never leave me and in my darkest hour, he is always there, reminding me that he loves me and this too will pass. He said "Tim" do you love me, too many times I could not count, and I know he heard my cry, yes Lord I love you. He replied, feed my sheep. Yes Lord I will. I will feed the sheep who need help, are distant from you God at the present time and will teach them your loving ways, your commandments for each of our lives. I will share the love given to each of us who believe.

I have tried with all of my heart to be a good disciple in Christ to others and my commitment will never stop. I can say never, because I know our God, Son and Holy Spirit are part of my everyday walk. This is my life now and has been for so long, I do not know the way back. Although I am a sinner and I continue to ask Jesus for his forgiveness, I cannot go anywhere without God, he is with me always. I did experience much darkness and despair, this past year and I truly prayed to him everyday for help and to be my guide.

May everyone here today hear his voice and be saved.

May everyone here today, let Jesus come into your lives and share his love with him.

Dear Jesus, I love you.

Amen

Amen Tim! Thank you for sharing, I can relate to your experience with Jesus speaking to you asking you if you Love Him. On May 15th He spoke to me also, He asked me if I Trust Him?

You are "a good disciple in Christ", loyal and faithful.

God is faithful!!! Tim, I have seen your faith grew in the past 12 months and continues to grow in leaps and bounds! Seeing your Sunday reading analysis is heart warming :-)

James 1:2-4, "Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."

Romans 5:3-5, "we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."

2 Corinthians 4:16-18, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Here is an example of God's faithfulness for my prodigal, Katie!
* She received ,200 stimulus from the Government a month ago
* She filed her 2018 tax individual return because we didn't claim her as dependent eventhough we still pay for her school and living expenses (she was still in school)
* She was working full time in 2018 because she was on suspension in school
* She was in suspension one semester in 2018 because she was on probation one semester before that
* She was on probation in school because she was runing with the wrong crowd drinking and using drugs
* She was running with the wrong crowd because she was running away from God since high school
* She just graduated from Penn State (worldwide campus) two weeks ago with a degree in Journalism while working full time ever since 2018 during the semester when she was suspended!

You see, God is faithful! Without the probation and suspension, she wouldn't have received the ,200. Her younger sister was mad because she didn't get the ,200 or any money at all :-)

What I thought was a lost cause seeing the probation and suspension, God was and is working His way to benefit Katie!

LFFamily, so whatever you think is or may be bad or hopeless, God is working everything together for the good of those who love Him! Romans 8:28 :-) Believe it and trust Him as Tim did here in his sharing :-) Praise You Lord, Jesus Christ, Who reigns forever and ever, Amen!!!

Salina, I am so very thankful for your words, inspiration and true friendship.

You are a true disciple, always willing to take your valuable time for his kingdom and all of us sinners like us.

Your encouragement early on, with the many dear friends who have stood by me has meant the world to me.

If I list them, there are so many, I am afraid to miss one out of a mistake, I will just say, you know who you are and I am so very thankful for all of you.

Amen

Tim, I, too, join with the others in encouragement of the possible resolution to your years long struggle. I am also working my way through the aftermath of my own experience, which lasted decades. I haven't been back to Living Faith since quite recently and never commented at all. But you have helped me more than you can know. I continue to kneel down to God, our Father, Jesus Christ, our Savior, and follow the Holy Spirit's guidance as I persevere. Thank you for helping this suffering soul.

Continued prayers for Del/Tom's son. Lord, please hear our prayers.

Del/tom,
I have a childhood classmate and just this year, a very dear friend’s son, who both had liver transplants and required stents. Both are doing well!
It isn’t a race they’re on, it’s a marathon,
and my prayer is for your son’s steady recovery.
God Bless.

Amen. Thank you Holy Father for this beautiful day and for this Gospel today. Thank you Lord for my faith, my life and for my family. Thank you Holy Father, most of all, for your great sacrifice and for the opportunity of forgiveness and reconciliation. Please Lord have mercy. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, King of Endless Glory. Amen

This reminds me of the mantra for CBS this school year in Psalm 46:10a, "Be still, and know that I am God!" because "God will be exalted among the nations, He will be exalted in the earth! (Psalm 46:10b,c)

I can relate to Paul's vision in Acts 18:9-10, "One night while Paul was in Corinth, the Lord said to him in a vision, “
* Do not be afraid.
* Go on speaking, and do not be silent, for I am with you, Salina.
* No one will attack and harm you, Salina, for I have many people in this city.”

I have been attacked on this site before. Why? Acts 18:12b-13, "the Jews rose up together against Paul and brought him to the tribunal, saying, “This (wo)man is inducing people to worship God contrary to the law.”

It is comforting to know that God is with me and that His people are in this forum :-)

I am comforted by Jesus' Words in John 16:22b-23, "But
* I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you, Salina.
* On that day you will not question Me about anything.
* Amen, amen, I say to you, Salina, whatever you ask the Father in My Name He will give you!"

I look forward to the Day when I see You face to face, Lord Jesus! in the mean time, my heart rejoices for no one can take the joy You place in my heart! And You answer everything I ask God in Jesus' Name :-)
* I learn to reconize Your answers to my prayers!!!
* I learn Your characters in Your answers to all my prayers :-)
* I learn Your will from Your characters in the answers to all my prayers :-)

Amen! Thank you Sr Macrina. Prayers for Del/tom son’s stint surgery,
BonnieL | Posted on: 2020-05-22 07:55:18

Del/tom, praying for your son's stent surgery today! God has got him through the liver transplant surgery, so He will with today's surgery to open up the blockage with a stent to supply blood to the new liver :-) Do you trust Him and praise Him for what he has done, is doing and will do? Rejoice in the Lord if you do :-)

As Jesus' blood cleanses and supplies blood to our new hearts, so the stent surgery will supply blood to the new liver for your son, Del/tom!

Ephesians 1:7-8a, "In Him (Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us."

So it will be with your son that the blood will flow freely into the new liver with the stent, the revival of his liver functions without any damage to the new liver, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on your son :-) Amen!!!

Plus, God needs your son to be well and healthy to continue His work to support and care for you and your husband financially :-) To that I say Amen for I know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who (you and your son) have been called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
