'Beautiful Answers'

Wednesday of Holy Week

Lord, in your great love, answer me.

- Psalm 69:14 (responsorial)

What a raw day it was--not my idea of springtime. Driving in traffic only added to my gray mood. As I edged up to an intersection, the light turned red. I noticed a school across the street. On its lawn was a sign as big as a billboard. In huge lowercase letters were the words, "you are beautiful." I felt my face flush. Was that message meant for me? It couldn't be...could it?

A few weeks later, I noticed you are beautiful stenciled under a viaduct. Little stickers of you are beautiful started popping up in unlikely places--elevators, telephone poles and even dumpsters. And so it continues. Each time I discover one, I want to high-five the heavens. God does speak in such surprising ways. This message captivates me because you are beautiful--we all are!

Thank you Gail for your beautiful words.

"You are all beautiful" Living Faith Family!

In today's Scripture readings and devotion I heard words of hope: "The Lord GOD is my help", "You who seek God, may your hearts revive!", "For the LORD hears the poor", "You are beautiful", and "God does speak in such surprising ways".

God Bless our Living Faith Family and continued prayers for all.

In my humbled opinion there is "abundant beauty" in our world today in the form of individuals who at great personal risk to themselves display an amazing dedication to care for and help those effected by the global pandemic. This is Gods presence in the mist of such great sickness and anxiety, we see this through the ages there is and always will be those who will reflect the light of God through the darkness so we may know His love will always remain no matter how bleak the circumstances may seem to us.
peace be with you all!

We are all beautiful made differently, but in God’s own image, right.

Thank you Living Faith Family for always knowing the right things to say, everyday.

May our prayers be held up high to him today. Dear Jesus with our arms extended high, please hear our prayers of your family gathered here today. May you also hear our prayers for all of the front line workers who are helping so many people with the COVID-19. Our middle son came home yesterday to let us know that he will be heading to the front lines now on a special task force in the hospital because of the number are growing. My son is a PT-tech, and his area has slowed in recent weeks. Dear Lord, please protect our care workers, such as my own son, his heart yearns to help, to try to make a difference, may he always be kept in the palm of your hand.

Blessed are we who serve the Lord.

Amen.

Indeed, "You are beautiful!"

What is true beauty?
* 1 Samuel 16:7, "But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
* 1 Peter 3:4, "You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God."
* Ecclesiates 3:11a, "Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart,"

Jesus is my example of true beauty in Isaiah 53:1-3, "Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed His powerful arm?
* My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground.
* There was nothing beautiful or majestic about His appearance, nothing to attract us to Him.
* He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on Him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care."

I will praise the Name of God in song, and I will glorify You with thanksgiving: “See, I the lowly one, and be glad; I who seek God, may my heart revive! For my LORD hears the poor, and Your own who are in bonds You spurn not.” Lord, in Your great love, You answer me! Amen! (Psalm 69:31-33-34)

It is a weeping moment when I realize that He is speaking directly to ME! It happens often, when my eyes and ears are attuned to Him. What a glorious moment it must be every time you see "you are beautiful", Gail. Thank you!

As the song by Ray Stevens states, "everyone is beautiful in their own way". God made us all beautiful. Thank you, God! After all, we are in His image! Blessings!

Thanks Gail for the great imagery in your devotion and JEC for the reminder of that song which I am listening to on YouTube as I type this.
There is a lot of beauty in people and that includes each and every one of us.
I'm looking at the flowers bursting into life in my garden there is a lot of beauty in nature too. I am heading out to do some weeding with a pep in my step.
