'God's Law Trumps Human Laws'

Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children

Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath...to save life rather than destroy it?

- Mark 3:4

Today's gospel is a powerful teaching on this day for the unborn. Jesus intentionally broke a Jewish Sabbath law in order to heal a man. Healing this man's infirmity trumped the local law.

Today's Christian cannot support or aid actions that would terminate the life of an unborn child, even if the civil law allows it, even if people claim it as their right.

This does not mean, of course, that we can engage in violent actions against others, even in our support of life. Violence against others is not pro-life. Thus, we pray, we seek to persuade, we engage in nonviolent action. We challenge civil laws when they are detrimental to life.

Jesus healed on the Sabbath, despite human laws forbidding it. We, too, recognize that God's law of life is above any human laws that would destroy it.

- Msgr. Stephen J. Rossetti

Thank you "Patrick, Ginny, Julie and Tim" for your wonderful responses to my comment that I wrote yesterday. Your comments are special to me and have given me hope and encouragement knowing that I am not alone and that I am not the only one that has gone through and is going through hard times, "suffering". I know that we are to go through our sufferings in a "good and happy spirit", but there are times when we break down and we just need a "break from those sufferings".

Thank you "Patrick, Ginny, Julie and Tim" once again for the hope you have given me and the encouragement to continue on strong with my faith in Jesus. God Bless You and our Living Faith Family.

Hello Tillie, that’s what community is all about, encouraging and helping each other. Even the Atlantic Ocean is not a barrier to supporting each other. We all get overwhelmed at times, but with the Lord on our side we have nothing to fear. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. We may get knocked back or down, but so did the prophets and apostles. We are never down and out we are up and running or on our way back up after a fall. You encourage me with your gentle spirit. We all have a role to play we are parts of the community that is the one body.

I find it rather easy to support life when the killing is obvious, abortion, murder, etc. Where I struggle is the slow process of dying of old age. I have my 92 year old mother-in-law living with my wife and I. She wants life to be over. I understand but believe I must continue to encourage her to continue on until the Lord calls her home. Jesus pleas bless me and my wife in our care for her mother. Amen!

A day late....
I go into a local care home every day. I pass by one room where there is a gentleman, that is over 90 years old, having a very slow death. As I pass his room, I make the Sign of the Cross, and ask God, in his mercy, to take him home.

God’s laws will always trump man’s laws.

It is good to be a student of Jesus, pick up the word and be prepared to be amazed at his teachings for us.

Put God First and be transformed in your life today.

Continued prayers for all of our Living Faith Family and their families.

I am sure we would all want to be healed by Jesus no matter what the time or day it was.

Thanks be to God that he is our Rock our Living Grace in our lives.

Amen.

God is everything above us while we are nothing before Him. His laws therefore greatly surpasses our human conditions. His wisdom is to be marvelled at as it surpasses our own foolishness. If it is his will to save he will at any given time,no strings attached and we in our humanness can't defy God's wisdom and grace. In him we live, in him we move, in him we are all that we are. His thoughts and ways are above ours. Therefore, have thine own way Lord, for you are the Potter we are merely clay. Prayers and blessings Living Faith family. Special prayers for all of you with particular prayer needs. Be blessed.
